You are not starving yourself at 1400 calories a day. For lots of women 1400-1500 is the amount to maintain their weight and 1200 to lose it. You can also try veggies as a snack and some nuts. Though don't go overboard with the nuts because those can actually be unhealthy if you eat more than a serving. My favorite snack is celery and carrots with hummus. Though I don't eat much fat and added sugars so my body is use to eating healthy so the fruits and veggies fill me up.

Is It Okay That I Said No To My Neice?

My neice Alica is 19 years old and had a baby. She had a huge baby shower and got tons of diapers and clothes. I've never seen someone get so much. The baby shower lasted for hours because of all the presents she had to unwrap. But she called me up and asked to borrow $20 so she could buy diapers and ciggarretts. Yesterday was my birthday. I wanted this game called rockband. Well i told my husband about this two weeks ago. He talked to my sister friday just to be sure what I wanted, had all of saturday to get it. Never did until monday on his lunch break. I had a huge country fried steak with cream gravy, black pepper mashed potatoes, a salad with blue cheese dressing, and lots of chips and spicy salsa. I also drank about 5 glasses of ice tea with no sugar in it. I was feelin pretty good and then started feelin like my stomach was sorta tight and I needed to rest on the couch. Balancing the Ph In a German Shepherd Dog's Ears. Are These Instructions From The Daily Puppy Sound?

Seems OK. We had a GSD that had some issues with his ears and we used a very similar procedure to clean them. Never new about the PH balancing though. We used an over the counter product called (I believe) Octa-calm (or similar, sorry I don't remember the exact name......we have another GSD now (the old original fella crossed the bridge seven years ago) whose ears are PERFECT (we're very happy).

First things first, you have short sentences that could be combined into one fluid sentence. For example, 'When was this flight over, I thought. Someone knocked on the door. I groaned and splashed water on my face. I gasped at how cold and crisp it was.' could be 'I wondered when the flight would end as someone knocked on the door. Groaning, I rolled my eyes before getting ready. The water I splashed on my face was cool and crisp, making me gasp.' That's kind of sloppy, but you get my drift. Starting too many sentences with 'I' makes it choppy. Also, instead of calling the boy 'hot' you could say he was attractive, and describe his features. What color are his eyes, his hair? Does he have a mysterious smirk or a mischievous grin? The beginning, when she awoke from a dream...you could talk about the ending of the dream just before she wakes up, intriguing the reader as to why she was dreaming about such a thing. How long do the lungs take to heal?

A chest x-ray taken a week ago showed that I have a "strip" of pneumonia in my right lung (only a portion is infected, not the entire lung), and my left lung is normal. I also had acute bronchitis. I've been sick for 2 weeks now. I use a Qvar inhaler, and a nebulizer when needed. My right lung still makes a weird groaning/crackling sound when I breathe. Should I go back to the doctor? How long do viral pneumonia symptoms last? It's already been 2 weeks, and my lung is still making a weird noise.

How should I start my chapters?

Be careful about prologues because they often seem like something "before the story starts." They have to follow the same basic pattern as all story telling. If there is no other purpose than introducing the character, I would consider dropping it and working any background you need into the story as it goes along. So wherever you start let it be with something happening. You mentioned you do that with your action stories but it's really the same thing with this. Begin in the middle of something going on. It could be a shock your protagonist gets in a conversation, a telephone call, or seeing something happening she/he doesn't understand. In romance it could be a reaction to seeing the romantic interest for the first time. It needs to be emotional and surprising (at least for the character) but it doesn't have to be all that active in a physical way. In a smaller way, it's the same with chapters. It's best to END each chapter with something that leaves the reader a little anxious about what happens next and begin the next one in the middle of what was hinted at in the last one. Think of a chapter as a complete scene which ends with a "teaser" leading to the next scene. As far as planning, you're right to have an overall goal for the protagonist and it's good to be thinking about some of the points that have to happen to get there but don't worry if, as you write, you find you want to change some or all of those. That sometimes happens as you begin to feel you better understand the character and know how they would react to things. As far as not planning to publish, that might not be a useful way of thinking. If you want to be a writer, you should always be thinking about how a reader would be responding to what you are doing. Maybe you're right and publishing at this point in life is not likely but it's not impossible and you should be working at it the same way you would if you already had a contract and a deadline for the manuscript. Even if you can't get it published (it won't be because of your age but possibly do to lack of experience) it may be something you'll get out in ten years and realize it can be reworked and sold. NEVER LOSE ANYTHING YOU HAVE WRITTEN! Back it up, protect it and keep it forever. I hope this helps.

Trying to get my milk to dry up by wrapping chest in ace bandage.?

I have read that using a cabbage leaf will help. My wife works at a hospital and they send up cabbage leafs to many of the new moms who do not want or want to stop breast feeding. When she was breast feeding I ask the same thing her mother told me (can't4it). I thought she said some kind of rub on drug I even ask the people at the pharmacy they sort of looked at me funny and suggest what I said above. She was bullheaded and never did but has said she seen it work on others. I know it can become rather painful almost like when a guy gets hit in the right spot. I am currently 5 months pregnant & heart broken. Of course I am still in love with him & even tried to reconcile 3 days ago, which left me more hurt. Yesterday was was one of the hardest days without him, I was off from work & I have no car, cable, or friends so I find it hard to cope @ times. Some how by the grace of god I was making it breakdowns & all. Then @ 11:30 he shows up @ my door with a container of a meal he's cooked & is like "I thought you'd like some". Of course I asked him to come in & he responded by saying " I can't". He proceeding to kiss my forehead, not once but twice & each kiss felt long or over emphasized. Then unwraps the blanket from around me to rub my stomach, and vanishes. I was just surviving, barely, now this. I feel like holding on now, when I was coming around to letting go. Is there really any chance he will ever return? Please help.

Need help to fix spicy chili?

I wasn't feeling well, so my husband offered to cook dinner. He made some chili (I won't go into too much detail, lets just say it was a disaster), it's nothing but heat because he used WAY too much red pepper flakes, you really can't taste anything in it because of the heat. He made a lot of it, and I don't like wasting food, so I was hoping there was some way to save it and maybe tone down the heat? He's a sweet guy and he really meant well, but he can't really cook. Dad being a jerk-sis always getting what she wants?

Thing is all i saw when i walked in was my sis on the dang computer!! so when i turned around and saw my dad i said sorry and he started yelling at me how i'm 13 and i shouldn't have to be giving an attitude in this house and i should take resposibilty even after i explainded this though him so i started crying (where he couldn't see or else he would start yelling at me again plus again isn't usually like me to cry) and grabbed my book washed my hands and ran upstairs and after a while started typing this. Okay, so I had this BEST FRIEND EVER! He was a guy and I was a girl, but there wasn't any romance between us. But it's like we were destined to be best friends. He has this sarcastic sense of humor, and I have this weird one, so we'd always crack jokes about each other. We spent Pre-K until 5th grade together. (7 years) Then for 6th grade, he'd be going to a different school. I was really sad, and cried myself to sleep. After all, he was always at my side, and if I was nervous and told him, he'd make a really sarcastic joke that would seem rude to others, but I know he meant it kind-heartedly to me. Anyway, I always told him about boys I liked, to which he groaned, and we shared everything, and would have playdates every weekend. Anyway, 6th grade came, and it was OK. He and I still kept in touch, but were too busy during the school year, so during the summer, he came over about once or twice a week. I know the summer's nearing but I just feel so alone! Now I'm in 7th grade and I was hoping for him to come in the summer again. But once during the winter, we were at a friends house with about 3 other friends who also used to go to my school, and I was friends with, but now go to the same school as my best friend. So we were having a snowball fight, and everyone was ganging up on me. At first he didn't say anything, and finally when I thought he would tell everyone to cut it out, he joined in! This didn't seem like his usual self. I know he's sarcastic, but this was going far. They weren't trying to bully me but it sure felt like it! The even teams we had made for a snowball fight had now turned into everyone vs. me. They were pelting me with snowballs, stuffing snow down my shirt and making me lay face-down in the snow. Then, they stole my hat and dug a hole and hid it. I was close to tears. My hero ended up not being my best friend, but his little sister, who is 4 years younger than us! She found my hat and ended up hanging out with me for the remaining time. I havn't spent any "quality time" since with him. I figured it was just him trying to "impress" his friends somehow, but it still hurts to this day. Not that moment, but that I might have lost my best friend. I rely on him because at my school I have a nice group of friends, but none of them "know me" the way he does. He is actually the only kid from my school within my entire life that has ever been to my house. I feel lost without him, and meanwhile whenever I catch up, he keeps on talking about his great life at a new school with all these new kids. I know that I have to understand that he has new friends, but I want my best friend back, and I want to start living happily. I'm close to tears... please help me. Guinea Pig Questions?

Ok so I kind of got off schedule for a few months an havent been caring for them as well as I should have but now Im making a new schedule an also making them a playpen some questions I have for other guinea pig owners are,I change my guinea pigs water everyother day? is that ok? before when I had more time & also didn't go out as much it was daily,now I do it everyother day unless its hot in the house then Ill do it everyday until it gets chill again..another thing is how long should a 96oz bag of hay last? an how long should pellets last? the pellets usually last me a month as for the hay I usually get a 48oz bag that lasts a month also an since the 96oz is twice the size I figured it should last at least 2..also I feed them veggies or atleast try to daily..usually 1/2cup to a cup and once inawhile more is this a good amount? the veg I feed them usually consists of romaine lettuce,green bell pepper,an 1 or 2 other veggies. sounds good? be honest =/ as for their playpen they havent really been out there cages for a few months due to being kicked out my house,packing everything an have been to lazy to unpack again so my whole room is crowded but once I set up there playpen I was thinking 2hours each aday? since they dont get along should I try an put them both in the same playpen an see if there differences will pass there? another thing whats a REALLY an I mean REALLY cheap bedding that will NOT cause any harm to them..I use carefresh but Ive gone a whole month without cleaning there cage due to not having the money to buy it..an ik some of you may say give them to someone who will care better for them but trust me there is no1! they have some health issues that only someone who has had them for awhile like me would know how to handle them..anyway what isa good/fair super cheap bedding? easy to clean? an is it ok if I use a folded blanket under the playpen when I put them in there?? please help answer any questions as well as you can..TY

Yesterday was my birthday. I wanted this game called rockband. Well i told my husband about this two weeks ago. He talked to my sister friday just to be sure what I wanted, had all of saturday to get it. Never did until monday on his lunch break. He said he went to two stores and no one had the guitar so all he gave me was the game which was useless without an instrument and told me he would buy it online for me. Well then I was lupset cuz he knew about it two weeks ago so he had plenty of time to see if they were hard to get, order it online, and have it by my birthday. But no, instead he waited untl the very last minute and couldn't get it. To me it seemed like he didn't care enough to put effort into getting me something for my bday. he waited until the last moment to try to throw something together for me and failed. After he gave me the game, unwrapped, I went online found a store who had it and bought it within 30 minutes of looking. Then he said well he wasn't even sure which one to get but thats BS cuz i already told him which one I wanted. Well then he said I made HIM feel bad since i got upset with him and then he went to be early and so I was up alone on my bday miserable. Am I wrong for getting upset with him? I felt completely justified in him showing zero interest. He said i acted like I was unappreciative and that he showed interest by hanging with me and my family as we celebrated our birthday (i am a twin) yesterday. I already told him i was happy he went cuz usually he doesnt but that that was a family thing, he didnt have to go and for my real bday is was just supposed to be about me and him. I always go to his bday party with my family and then go above and beyond for his bday. Normally I say just dont get me anything and he doesnt and I am fine with that. Pelvic pain/pressure at 31 weeks pregnant...?

I am 26 and 31 weeks pregnant with my first baby. For the past 24 hours I have been experiencing quite intense lower pelvic pressure and uncomfortable pain. There have been times when I could not sit or had to stand from sitting. I have noticed that I have also got internal haemorroids which could be adding to the discomfort? Does ground beef turn brown after freezing?

I bought some beef back in January. I froze it in 1.5lb packages. We took it out to thaw Tuesday morning. It's now technically Friday morning and I took it out to cook it for sloppy joes. How to treat a second degree burn on my leg?

While I was at a race track, I was riding a 110 dirtbike. I crashed and now I have a 2 degree burn on my lower leg and it is very large. How do I treat it? That's awful! The fluffy fiber type bedding is always dangerous to baby hamsters. You shouldn't do too much as the hamster could cannibalize its young. The mother should either cut it off or you may just have to let nature take its course. If there is nothing you can do you have to leave it to the mother. Hamsters aren't the most attentive mothers though. If the baby dies I would get it out before she eats it. It breaks my heart to see that happen. Good luck.

What can I do about my parents?

Okay so I'm 15 years old guy and my bedroom is right next to my parents. This is really bad as you can probably guess what happens. About five times a week, I hear my parents at it. This is driving me insane! I am literally gona go mad! One night if I hear them, I wont be able to stop myself screaming ' Shut the fuc* up! ' I never sware to my parents but this is killing me! I have a cold so its hard enough to sleep but when I hear their groaning I get really pissed of! How can I confront them or let them know I can hear them? I was up last night because of my cold and my parents. My mom asked me how I slept and I told her I did'nt. I said I though I heard them and she sort of said ' Yes me and your father were up in the night talking '. I mean shes just making crap up! Is my novel good so far?

Pretty good. But, you do need to work on it a little bit, try and put more pauses in your story. People will want to read more if you do that. (When I mean pauses, I mean commas). The book sounds REALLY good so far. Just don't EVER get off a different subject for the whole story, or it wont make sense. There are some sentences you messed up on. You'll notice them. I hope this novel will be published when its finished!!! Do well!!!

You should take them out of the paper and put them in archival plastic tubes. The paper used has acid in it and it will tone the edges of the coins. Also there is little protection to the coins at each end. If you live in an area that has high humidity get some silica gel and put it in the box the rolls are in. One should use silica gel with all coins if one lives in an area that has high humidity. Coin collecting can be a great hobby but get some books on the type of coins you want and learn about them. Well if he has had a very hard life it may have had a negative affect on him. I think you should be proud of yourselves for being so good to him. What can I cook for a picky family?

Some weeks my family will come up with the weekly meals together and I will plan a one week menu out. I will go over the weekly meals with my family and see what food sides we can add or delete from the daily main meals so that everyone is happy. Planning out the meals for the week and posting them on the refrigerator really seems to help with the picky eating because we came up with the menu choices together as a family and everyone knows what to expect each day so there should be no complaints.

I was about 9 when my parents split i remember my mom coming up the stairs and asking me who i would want to live with if they got divorced... I was hurdling at a track invitational. The runner next to me elbowed me so hard that he twirled me into the next lane, and I fell on my shoulder, scraping my arm, shoulder, and knee against the track. Im a 21yo male. I weigh 187lbs and im 5'7'' .A month ago i switched from drinking 6-7 dr peppers a day to drinking nothing but water. I stopped eating fast food often. I try not to add table salt to anything, i also cut out little snacks. I eat about 400cal for breakfast and about 500-800 calories for dinner, i dont usually eat lunch but every once and awhile ill have 300cal for lunch.... Is this ok? also would eating lunch help my metabolism stay active until i eat dinner? How much weight could i potentially lose? Before i started all these changes, the highest number i seen on the scale was 198 and i usually weighed 196.xx. Is that good progress for a month?

Is my wrist still chipped?

2 weeks ago i chipped a bone in my wrist, i went to the hospital and they confirmed it was a chip and i was given a half cast (only 1 plaster slab). The wierd thing is the doctor said, 6 weeks to heal, 4 if your lucky. Very Awkward Situation, Need Help!?

Toenail was peeling offf help!!!!!?

Is it possible to recycle unopened CDs?

Through some searching, I've found some companies that will recycle the actual CD discs and jewel cases separately, but I have boxes upon boxes of unopened CDs, still in their shrink wrap. I'm all about conservation, but I just don't have the time to go through and unwrap every single CD, separate out all the paper, discs, jewel cases, etc. It would take forever. Call me lazy, but I don't have a whole week to kill doing this. I haven't had any luck finding a proper disposal method for large quantities of unopened CDs beyond just tossing them into a dump. Should I stay in this motel?

How soon does a belly show?

I stopped using BC recently. as we will be TTC soon. We are getting married in 4 months, and were going to start trying for a baby as soon as the honeymoon. the plan was to use condoms until then, but old habits die hard and we went unwrapped. I think I may be pregnant a little earlier than planned. this is not a bad thing, as I said we were going to be trying soon anyway. Tampon problems! Please help!?

I'm 13 and a virgin and I've never had a period. I know it's coming soon though. I'm going to camp this summer and everyone said not to bring pads. They said the high school counselors hang them from the rafters. Everyone said to bring tampons. So, to prepare myself, I decided to insert one about 10 minutes ago. I washed my hands, took my pants and panties off, and went to work, so to speak. I unwrapped the Tampax Pearl Lite (my friend recommended it) tampon. Then, I proceeded to make sure my vagina was lubricated. It was nice and wet and sticky. I tried like 5 times. I reclined on the toilet lid and tipped my bottom up. Then, I put one foot up on the counter, and then one foot on the lid, then I tried squatting, just plain standing... Nothing worked! The tampon would go halfway in (That is, half of the applicator was showing.) and then kind of stop. I would push harder, but it would tickle a lot! And I got REALLY wet. It didn't hurt, just tickled A LOT. How far is it supposed to go in and what am I doing wrong? What should I do differently?! AGHHHHH!! FRUSTRATION!

The story is unwrapped like a pass the parcel. Only the stories that Kambia tells are unusual yet fantastic: That memory beetle’s gather up and store people's good memories and that she is a piece of driftwood from the Mississippi River. One story stands out the most that leaves a ‘dead end’ passage flowing through out the book, about the vicious Wallpaper Wolves that hide in her walls to catch bad little girls. Kambia’s story dwells on Shayla, as Shayla knows that something is wrong, yet she can’t get it out of Kambia.

Is guinea pig good to eat?

So, I bought a guinea pig for my eight year old daughter for her b-day. She was very excited as it was the first pet my wife and I have allowed her to have. Unfortunately, she hasn't stopped sneezing since she unwrapped it! Her allergies can't seem to be nickled in the buck. She's allergic to it and I have to get rid of it. I was thinking of cleaning it and eating it. I have heard that guinea pigs tastes like regular pork meat and thought it might be a good "circle of life" lesson for my daughter if she helped end the animal's life. She has learnt about the food chain in science. Has anyone eaten guinea pig? If so, how do you kill and prepare them? It's not a wild pig or bore, it's really cute. Can you eat pet pigs? What can I do about my parents?

Okay so I'm 15 years old guy and my bedroom is right next to my parents. This is really bad as you can probably guess what happens. About five times a week, I hear my parents at it. This is driving me insane! I am literally gona go mad! One night if I hear them, I wont be able to stop myself screaming ' Shut the fuc* up! ' I never sware to my parents but this is killing me! I have a cold so its hard enough to sleep but when I hear their groaning I get really pissed of! How can I confront them or let them know I can hear them? I was up last night because of my cold and my parents. My mom asked me how I slept and I told her I did'nt. I said I though I heard them and she sort of said ' Yes me and your father were up in the night talking '. I mean shes just making crap up! I sprayed pepper spray in the face of a pregnant woman. Can she file assault charges against me?

Now before you leap to conclusions, she’s black, and I thought that she was going to rob me because I was in line at a hamburger place in a bit of a lower class city (Manhattan), and I didn’t know anybody there, and I was already on edge because I had just been fired from my job (not my fault, my boss is an ***), so I was just really uptight and anxious. Anyways, she tapped me on the shoulder and said something to me (I think she asked if I was in line?), I turned around and realized that she was black, so I got scared, and I sprayed the pepper spray in her face. She fell backwards and started screaming, and that’s when I realized that she was pregnant. So, I did the only reasonable thing to do, I took off my blouse and put it over her face, I ran out of the place and hopped in my Ford Explorer (god bless America) SUV, and drove off. Now, I didn’t go around telling people my name or my email address or anything, but I think that I saw one of the woman’s “homies” writing down my license plate number. What should I Do? Can she sue me for assault or something? It’s not my fault, is it? It was an accident, I can’t be held responsible for my actions since it was a provoked attack, and I only responded out of fear. If anything, it was self defense and she could be held responsible for this, right?

Frequent painful cramps in 2nd trimester?

I'm 15 weeks 5 days pregnant with baby #2. I got a few cramps early on and my doc said it was my uterus stretching. They stopped for awhile, but now i get them when i go up and down the stairs, lift something with difficulty, or do much physical work at all. My son is 24 lbs, and i get cramps when i pick him up. Sometimes i get cramps for no reason at all. They're almost debilitating, and i have to sit still and groan until they go away. There is no bleeding, but i still don't feel that it's normal. I have my next pre-natal appointment tomorrow, so i will ask then. But in the meantime, has anyone else had this? Is this something to worry about? I missed my vitamins for awhile, but have started taking them again. Help? Thank you.

How much compressed helium needed to make a football float away? Is this prank possible?

I would like to send a package to a friend as a prank. After he unwraps the box (maybe the size of a large shoebox) there will be a standard sized football--but it can be a junior size ball if necessary. My question is: how much compressed helium needs to be forced into the football so that the ball will float up, out of his hands and stick on the ceiling (assuming he opens package indoors!)?? What is happening to my peppered Cories?

My peppered corys have never done anything quite like that. They do float up a bit sometimes when they are just hanging out but mine usually sit on the bottom when they're resting. It doesn't sound like swim bladder or that anything is really wrong with them so I would just watch them and see if anything changes.

I was dead lifting at the high school today and when i went up on the 4th rep, i felt a sort of tearing in my back (in the middle of it, but to the right of the spine) and it hurt really bad and i groaned involuntarily. I can't bend over now, it hurts really bad. Even sitting down hurts. There's no visible swelling on the spot by the way. What did i do to it?

Is it possible to recycle unopened CDs?

Through some searching, I've found some companies that will recycle the actual CD discs and jewel cases separately, but I have boxes upon boxes of unopened CDs, still in their shrink wrap. I'm all about conservation, but I just don't have the time to go through and unwrap every single CD, separate out all the paper, discs, jewel cases, etc. It would take forever. Call me lazy, but I don't have a whole week to kill doing this. I haven't had any luck finding a proper disposal method for large quantities of unopened CDs beyond just tossing them into a dump. Can anyone help out? What do all the major records labels and such do with their unsold CDs?

Are the nutrients in a bell pepper in the skin or the fruit?

First off do not shop at Kroger full time prices on many items are kind of high. If they double Coupons then use them. I shop at Aldi they have a limited variety mostly their house brands, but milk is $1.99 per gallon and eggs are .89 per doz. at the store close to me. Follow the adds I just got Rague for .99 per jar with 2 jars I got free pasta. I bought 20 jars. Spices I can get for .99 to 1.19 for standard spices.

Roundworms (Ascarids) make a liver to lung migration in the animals body and can be coughed up. If the cat is young then the roundworms probably came from Momma in vitro. OTC wormers are iffy, I would get a wormer from the vet. But there is no need to worm all your pets unless you know for sure that they have something.
